The Depersonalisation
Guidance Centre

A one-to-one intervention for individuals with experiences of depersonalisation & derealisation from a UK-based mental health nurse

Persistent and problematic depersonalisation and derealisation affects around 1% of the population. Sadly, these symptoms are under-recognised by traditional mental health professionals leading those with experiences of depersonalisation-derealisation to feel like they have nowhere to turn to....

I am a mental health nurse with over 10 years of experience practising in the UK's National Health Service. Professionally, I have a particular interest in persistent depersonalisation and derealisation; in how the symptoms come about and how they are maintained. I also have a considerable personal interest with these symptoms, having experienced problematic depersonalisation and derealisation persistently for several years and having achieved a complete recovery.

Using a coaching and psycho-educational approach informed by cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), I hope to be able to help you to make the first steps towards your own recovery and life without depersonalisation-derealisation.

No. No intervention for any condition – physical or psychological – can guarantee a cure.

The interventions I offer can help you to make the first steps towards your own recovery. During our time together I hope to help you to gain a better understanding of your depersonalisation-derealisation and to challenge some of the scary assumptions you may have made about your symptoms. You may also find it useful to talk to a professional who has experienced persistent depersonalisation-derealisation and who has recovered from the condition.
